Frequently Asked Questions

You need to complete 16 years of education for a Master's Degree. Mandatory tests include TOEFL/EILTS/PTE/Duolingo and GRE for most programs, and GMAT for Management Programs. Some universities accept students with 15 years of education under certain conditions. For a Bachelor's Degree, completion of 10+2 and mandatory tests such as TOEFL/EILTS/PTE/Duolingo and SAT are necessary.

The Xerox or true copies of your mark sheets attested by the concerned University Registrar or Asst. Registrar or Controller of examiner in sealed envelopes are known as Official Transcripts.

Selection of Universities is a personalized affair. As each individual student will have his own profile, As the academics, scores and credentials, interests differ vastly from student to student. Hence, only after you attend personal counseling and after assessing your strengths and weakness, also taking into consideration your interests, Universities will be selected.

Most of the universities offer scholarships to international students. The basic criterion of availing a scholarship is your good test scores and fair academics. Scholarships generally start from $1,000 to full fee waiver. It’s totally depends upon the university as well as your scores.

While most American Universities require 16 years of education, some accept students with 15 years of education and good standardized test scores.

Both TOEFL and IELTS are accepted, and many universities accept PTE/Duolingo in addition to TOEFL.

Students can work up to 20 hours a week and 40 hours during weekends. Tuition fee waivers, fellowships, and assistantships also alleviate financial burdens.

An I-20 is a formal admission letter provided by the university upon acceptance.

The Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) program requires schools to verify the enrollment status of all continuing and new foreign students.  For most students and exchange visitors, the SEVIS system should not affect either their ability to qualify for a visa, or the time it takes to process their case.  All I-20 forms for students and DS-2019 forms for exchange visitors now have SEVIS information printed on the forms. No,  It's not mandatory, but paying tuition in advance can show proof of funds.

Various documents, such as bank statements and employment letters, can demonstrate your ability to pay for education. Visa eligibility primarily depends on the interview.

Remember: though documents may assist you in your interview, the Consular Officer relies primarily on the interview to determine your eligibility for a visa, and only minimally on supporting documents As for the documents you do submit with your application, there are no specific documents that prove a student is able to pay for his/her education. Bank account statements, pay slips, income tax return statements, employment letters, property documents and chartered accountant statements are the most common documents used to show proof of funds. However, these are only suggested documents. A visa is not assured if you have any or all of these documents.
